Adult Asthma Specialist in Las Vegas, NV

Long-term asthma control for adults, accurate diagnosis, trigger identification, and a treatment plan that fits your life.

Asthma in adults is not always the asthma people remember from childhood. Symptoms shift over time, triggers evolve, and what once worked may stop working. For many of our patients, the visit is the first chance they've had to step back, look at the whole picture, and ask whether the diagnosis is still right and the treatment plan still appropriate.

Our evaluation begins with a careful history, pattern of symptoms, night-time awakenings, rescue inhaler use, hospital or urgent care visits, work and home environment, allergic history, and any reflux or sinus disease that contributes. We confirm the diagnosis with pulmonary function testing performed at the clinic, which often reveals important details that are invisible on symptom report alone.

Stepwise treatment that fits your life

Most adults with asthma do best on a daily controller medication chosen for their severity and exacerbation history, with a rescue inhaler for symptoms. Inhaler technique is reviewed in office because even the best medication does nothing in a device that isn't used correctly. We address comorbid allergic rhinitis and reflux when present, discuss home and workplace exposures, and identify when biologic therapy may be the right step for severe disease.

Action plans and follow-up

Every patient leaves with a written asthma action plan in plain language: what to do when symptoms are well-controlled, what to do during a yellow- zone flare, and what to do in a red-zone emergency. Routine follow-ups can be in office or by secure telehealth. Adults with work-related asthma covered by federal workers' compensation are seen as part of our DOL/OWCP program.

When to see a specialist

Consider a pulmonology visit if your symptoms wake you at night, you've needed oral steroids more than once in a year, you're using your rescue inhaler more than twice a week, or you're not sure whether the diagnosis you carry is actually correct.
