DEEOIC Energy Workers Program in Las Vegas, NV

A DEEOIC provider in Las Vegas treating energy workers, including former Nevada Test Site personnel, for accepted respiratory and toxic exposure conditions.

The Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act covers workers who became ill after exposure to radiation, beryllium, silica, and other toxic substances while employed by the Department of Energy or its contractors. Las Vegas Medical and Wellness is a DEEOIC provider in Nevada for energy workers, including a substantial population of former Nevada Test Site personnel who continue to live in the Las Vegas valley. Our team understands the program rules, the documentation standards, and the medical patterns specific to NTS worker medical care.

Who this service is for

We see adult patients, 18 and over, who hold an accepted Part B or Part E DEEOIC claim, or who have a claim in progress. This includes Nevada Test Site workers, atomic weapons employees, uranium workers, and Department of Energy contractor employees and subcontractors. Family members researching care on behalf of an aging energy worker are also welcome to call.

Conditions we evaluate and manage

  • Chronic beryllium disease and beryllium sensitization follow up
  • Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asbestosis, silicosis, and other interstitial lung diseases
  • Post exposure respiratory workups, including unexplained dyspnea, chronic cough, and abnormal imaging
  • Hypertension, chronic kidney disease, and metabolic conditions linked to accepted exposures
  • Anxiety, depression, and adjustment reactions associated with chronic occupational illness

What to expect at your first visit

Your first appointment focuses on understanding your work history, the substances you were exposed to, the timeline of symptoms, and the conditions that have been accepted by the Division of Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation. We review prior pulmonary function studies, imaging, and biopsies, then complete a focused exam. When indicated, we perform pulmonary function testing the same day in our on site lab, draw labs, and obtain a 12 lead EKG. You leave with a written care plan and, when needed, the documentation your claims examiner requires.

White card care and accepted conditions

The DEEOIC white medical benefits card pays for treatment of conditions specifically accepted by the program. We bill the program directly, complete the requested narrative and impairment reports, and coordinate any home health, durable medical equipment, or medication needs that fall under your accepted conditions. If a new diagnosis appears during your workup, we will help you understand whether it may be eligible for a consequential condition claim.

In-house pulmonary function testing

Many DEEOIC patients need ongoing spirometry, lung volumes, and diffusion capacity studies. Because we operate our own PFT lab, you do not need to travel to a separate facility. For more on the PFT pathway, see our Pulmonology page. If your claim also falls under the general federal workers comp program, our DOL / OWCP page explains how we coordinate the two.

Insurance and access

We accept the DEEOIC white card and most major insurance plans for any non covered services. Humana and HPN are not accepted at this time. Telehealth follow ups are available for established patients when clinically appropriate. Se habla español.
