Kidney Care
Nephrology in Las Vegas, NV
Nephrology focuses on the kidneys and the systems they touch: blood pressure, fluid balance, electrolytes, bone health, and the long term effects of diabetes and vascular disease. Many of the patients we see were sent because of an abnormal creatinine on a routine blood draw, a blood pressure that will not come down on three medications, or a metabolic panel that keeps showing an out of range potassium or sodium. Our role is to find out why, slow the disease where possible, and coordinate with your primary care doctor and any other specialists involved.
Who this service is for
We see adults, 18 and over, with new or established chronic kidney disease, resistant hypertension, recurrent kidney stones with metabolic causes, electrolyte disorders, glomerular disease, and kidney complications of diabetes. We also evaluate kidney related findings in federal and energy workers whose hypertension or kidney function may be linked to accepted exposures.
Conditions we treat
- Chronic kidney disease, stages 1 through 5, including pre dialysis planning
- Resistant and secondary hypertension
- Diabetic kidney disease
- Electrolyte disorders, including sodium, potassium, calcium, and magnesium
- Proteinuria and hematuria evaluation
- Metabolic stone disease
- Acute kidney injury follow up after hospitalization
What to expect at your first visit
Your first appointment is a thorough review of your kidney function over time, your blood pressure pattern, your medications, and any imaging or biopsy results you bring with you. We perform a focused exam and order the labs that move your evaluation forward. When useful, we draw labs and run an EKG the same day in our on site facilities, which avoids a separate trip to a lab draw site and keeps your workup moving.
In-house diagnostics
Routine and specialty labs are drawn at the clinic. A 12 lead EKG is available on site, which matters for patients with electrolyte shifts or those starting medications that affect cardiac conduction. When pulmonary evaluation is needed in parallel, our pulmonary function lab is in the same building.
Working with your other doctors
Kidney disease rarely travels alone. We coordinate closely with primary care, cardiology, endocrinology, and our own internal medicine and behavioral health teams so that the medications and recommendations across your chart line up. You receive a written plan after each visit, and your primary care doctor receives the same note.
Insurance and access
We accept most major insurance plans, OWCP, and DEEOIC. Humana and HPN are not accepted at this time. In office and telehealth follow ups are available for established patients. Se habla español.
